Kleines Hotel Heimfeld

The hotel is in a really quiet spot, which I appreciated as a light sleeper. There’s a pharmacy, supermarket, and bus stop about five minutes away on foot, plus cafés, fast food, and the S-Bahn within around 15 minutes. My room was roomy, bright, clean, and naturally ventilated, with a classy but modern feel. The bathroom was old, maybe from the 70s, but it was clean, and the rest of the experience outweighed that for me. The staff were attentive and cordial, and the price felt right for the quality. Breakfast was one of the best buffets I’ve had around here for a 3 or 4 star hotel. I’d recommend it.

I only booked this place for an eight-hour overnight stop, but it turned into the worst experience I’ve had. After paying, I was left outside at midnight because they hadn’t sent the code for the key box. Then I found a room that clearly hadn’t been prepared: the bed was unmade, bins were full, the sill was stained, and the window wouldn’t close. I had to sleep in a dirty room someone else had used. I’ve messaged them asking for my money back and still haven’t had a reply. They’re just ignoring me, with no apology or acknowledgement of how badly I was treated.

The breakfast buffet was really good, with bread, sausages, eggs, fruit, and vegetables, and I could order it as well. My room was large and very clean, with a comfortable bed and a desk if I needed to work, so it suits business travelers. The hotel itself is quite old, but still cozy and comfortable. I’d take one star off because of the bad room.

At checkout around 8:30 in the morning, there was nobody available to handle it, so I had to speak with a woman in the kitchen who didn’t know the checkout procedure. I was catching a train home, and ended up leaving my email so they could settle the bill later. They already had my card details and charged the amount anyway, but when I called the next day to ask for the bill by email, the person on the phone had little patience with me. The single room itself was awful, especially the bathroom, with very old fixtures, a strange toilet, and a narrow tub with damaged, dirty paint on the walls. I’d think carefully before booking here.
