My Place

The area stayed quiet even though it's in Hamburg's 'party area', and the location is great. Rooms are clean. I gave service 4/5 because breakfast, if you choose it, is very simple. A boiled egg and three slices of buttered bread aren't enough to get me to lunch. Luckily, there's a great bakery 100m down the road on the way to the S-Bahn!

My Place feels like a home away from home to us. We had a lovely couple of nights, with clean rooms that had exactly what we needed, and free tea. The hotel has a nice ethos and takes sustainability seriously, which matters. The receptionist was lovely and would do anything to make the stay a delight.

The tea selection is really nice, and breakfast is especially good if you like sweet things. They have an incredible range of homemade marmalades. The rooms are clean and spacious enough, though the WiFi can be patchy. It's fine for sending and receiving emails. Ground-floor rooms are right at street level and can get noisy. The staff are helpful, and there's a large stand of information leaflets. There are plenty of bars and little cafes nearby. Such an adorable place in the Schanzenviertel, it feels like home.

I've stayed here more than four times, and I like it a lot. I know many different hotels in Hamburg, and this is the best one. The staff are really friendly and helpful!
