Landhaus Jenischpark

The location made getting around easy: the S-Bahn station is a few minutes away, and S1 runs every ten minutes to Altona, the touristic center, and the main station. A bus goes down to the Teufelsbrücke ferry. Jenischpark and the botanical garden are around the corner, and the area has beautiful houses and shady streets. You can walk alongside the Elbe river all the way to Altona, which I highly recommend. There are no supermarkets right nearby, but a shopping center and a few supermarkets are a pleasant 20/25-minute walk or a short bus ride away. Bear in mind that you need to download the HVV app and register beforehand, since you can no longer buy tickets on the bus. The administration was very responsive, key pickup was uncomplicated, and the whole house was impeccably clean. We had a lovely six days in these stylish little houses, real bijou. All the small details fit the design concept, and the kitchen comes fully equipped, even with dishwashing liquid and paper towels. The back garden was a great spot for morning coffee. It was quiet, with little traffic noise, though there were some loud airplanes overhead. Upstairs there's a bedroom and a bathroom with a washing machine, plus a toilet downstairs. Foldable beds can be provided for a fee for up to two kids, but only one can fit in the upstairs bedroom. The one drawback was no proper dining table for more than two. We managed with the outdoor table, but that would be a problem in colder weather. I was very impressed by the accommodation and service.

We had a payment problem through Booking.com, and the hotel team was flexible, understanding, and supportive. The location is ideal if you want to enjoy Hamburg's “green” side rather than the city sights. Jenischpark, Botanical Garden Loki Schmidt, and Klein Flottbeck are all full of lovely views, and S Bahn and ferries are easy and quick to reach. We loved staying at this Aparthotel. The rooms, design, and equipment were great, with everything we needed to stay comfortably with a toddler. The kitchen had all the necessary tools, as well as a dishwasher, oven, iron board and iron, and washing machine. We especially enjoyed the little patio and garden furniture for evenings outdoors.
