Our friends liked the Krögen apartment so much that they booked it again after we stayed there. We had a great time too. The train station was just a two-minute walk away, handy since we came by train from Cologne. Check-in and check-out were contactless, quick, and easy. Inside, the modern fitted kitchen had all the basics, and there were two bedrooms and a bathroom. The balcony was a lovely spot for a quiet breakfast in the fresh air. We had no complaints at all.

It was okay for a few days, but I wouldn’t have chosen it for a longer stay. The carpet had stains, so I shoved it under the bed. The refrigerator kept gurgling loudly the whole time. The outlets seemed almost dangerous, and the heater was so old I had to check whether it was on because I couldn’t tell.

We were well looked after for all 8 days. It’s a quiet area, with the S-Bahn, bus, and a discount supermarket all within walking distance. In June I urgently needed a place for myself and my cat, and Gästehaus Picklapp had a holiday apartment available. I got help right away and a friendly welcome. Our ground-floor apartment was spotless, with rustic furnishings, a modern kitchenette, and a new shower room. It was non-smoking, so stepping outside for a quick smoke was easy. The apartment was only available for a few days because of the European Championship, so I moved to the other building. There I had a spacious double room, with a spotless shower room in the hallway on the same floor. They were helpful there too, providing a kettle, plates, cutlery, and a cup. There was a refrigerator in the room.
