Scandic Hamburg Emporio

The staff were really friendly, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Most of the main tourist sights are about a 20-minute walk away. I’d definitely recommend staying here!

The service was great, the people were very nice, and the rooms were clean. I’d love a better breakfast with tables already set, and it would be great if they served lunch and dinner too. I’ll stay again. Thanks for helping me during the storm, I was trapped and glad you had rooms!

After staying at Scandic Hamburg Emporio many times over roughly 2-3 years, I don’t think it’s worth the price anymore. The hotel keeps cutting things back while calling them unlimited. The lounge used to have signs telling guests to call reception for a quick refill. That was removed after about a year, and refills got slower and smaller. Now food isn’t refilled at all, even though guests pay to use the lounge. Whoever gets there first takes it, leaving nothing for others. Lounge quality has steadily declined, as has the food overall. Breakfast in the lobby is still okay, but it’s also had items removed and quality cut. The rooms aren’t really updated or as luxurious or premium as advertised. They’re small, and often something is broken or missing. It doesn’t seem like they care about keeping everything working or making the rooms look like the hotel has been built. On my last arrival, at night, the machine wouldn’t print a ticket to open the underground garage gate. I had to call the building. The first person I spoke to didn’t care that I’m disabled or that the disabled parking spaces are almost never used. He hung up, and I had to go through another 3 people before someone finally opened the gate. Once inside, I saw 8 free spaces belonging to Scandic, including the disabled spot. Reception then had the nerve to say the spaces were “reserved,” even though I’d been told on earlier visits that parking couldn’t be reserved before or during a stay. The hotel is near the center and it’s easy to get around. Scandic members can get 1-3 free alcohol-free drinks, but the service and quality have gone downhill over time.

The breakfast buffet was delicious! Check-in was straightforward, and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful, giving us a map and local tips. The room was very comfortable 🤩👍🏼
