The atmosphere was nice, and the breakfast was plentiful and beautifully served. They even bake the bread fresh on site. The room was tidy, and there’s no elevator to the third floor, something to keep in mind if you have heavy luggage. A kind woman was at reception in the morning, so I’ll give the place four stars, though I did consider three. The first impression at reception was awful, and I nearly left right away. We needed to adjust our booking because we had one extra person. The receptionist, who was the owner, handled it terribly. He wasn’t polite and didn’t offer a solution or explain that there might not be another room. Instead there were grimaces and eye rolling, and it made me feel completely unwelcome. In the end he offered to move us to a bigger room, but by then I wished he’d simply said there was no space.

The breakfast room was cramped, stuffy, and noisy. All 19 guests were packed in together, one window was shut, and when we asked the receptionist/breakfast girl to open it, she just shrugged and walked off. Breakfast itself was minimal, laid out on one worktop. The hotel has two locations, at 82 and 61. We were at 61, which felt more like a low-end youth hostel, with 12 small rooms on three floors at the back and another nine at the front. Number 81 is clearly the place shown in the website photos, with the nice rooms and restaurant, which is misleading. Our location was on a main road beside a tram line, so it was very noisy. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We were happy with the cleanliness and service, and the room ventilation was great thanks to having enough windows. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We recommend staying here.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, but the Wi-Fi doesn’t work on the second floor. Remember to take your key with you during your stay.
