It was okay.
The room was clean and practical, though simply furnished and not somewhere you'd want to hang out for long. Getting in with the key safe worked, but there was no service or restaurant. In town, we could find a pizzeria but no other restaurants, and there wasn't a locked room for storing bicycles.
We were unsure about the low price when five of us booked a night with breakfast, but the cleanliness and the generous, lovingly set breakfast table won us over. We’ll remember our stay fondly and would gladly return if we get the chance. Best wishes from Hamburg.
The bus connection worked well for our trip to the Christmas market in Hamelin. Our room was clean, and we slept well. Having the shower and washing facilities in the room felt unusual, but it was no issue for us. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel is usually closed in the evenings, and there are no restaurants, though nearby places offer food and drinks. We’d be happy to stay again.
The old half-timbered house sits on the main road, so it can be noisy, but it could be a good base for hikers. There’s a small supermarket within walking distance, though the village has few other options. A bakery is across the street. I didn’t know of anywhere in the house to get coffee or food. Our room matched the photos: small, clean, and functional. The guesthouse was clean overall, and access by email and key safe worked well, but we had no contact with staff and might have struggled to find help in an emergency. The shower took a VERY long time to warm up, and the low ceilings could be a problem for someone around 180 cm tall. It was okay, but I felt the price was too high for the room.
