The entryway to the building smelled strongly of garbage, and leaving meant we had to hold our breath. Inside, the apartment was extremely dirty: dusty, filthy floors that looked as if nobody had vacuumed, and someone else’s hair all over the bathroom. With no slippers provided, the dirt from the floor ends up on the supposedly clean white bed. We even found someone’s leftover cupcakes open on a kitchen shelf, with crumbs everywhere. I also felt very unsafe. There were no keys to lock the door from inside, so someone who guessed the entry code could simply walk in. We couldn’t wait to leave.

The location was great, the bed comfortable, the shower pressure good, and the heating system worked well. Still, that wasn’t nearly enough to make up for the rest. There was nowhere to unpack properly. Limehome advertised a wardrobe, but the only thing there was a clothes rack. There were no drawers apart from the small one in the nightstand, and no other furniture for your things. On my first day, the “Do not disturb” sign was broken, with pieces hidden in different parts of the room. On the third day, the wall-mounted shower caddy fell off, exposing how badly it had been drilled into the wall. The pot was filthy, as were the coffee makers, which also had stagnant water from God knows when. The wall-mounted soap dispenser was drilled in just as poorly as the caddy, so I stopped using it before it fell too. I reported all this. The only response was a replacement “Do not disturb” sign and a quick, poor clean of the coffee makers. The other dirty kitchenware was left as it was. I waited the next 12 days after reporting the caddy for it to be fixed, but it never was.

The room itself was nice and clean, with good water pressure. Everything was new, the kitchenette had what was needed for cooking, and there’s a laundry room in the building. It could be a great place to stay, if it were safe. I hope management takes this seriously and acts. I booked three weeks but left after 10 days. It felt unsafe from the first day, and I barricaded the door just in case. On weekends it was very loud outside until around 2am. The hotel is right across from the party REWE, where people pre-party outside. Then, at 9pm on Wednesday, a man tried to break into my room. I contacted Limehouse support straight away. They gave me the local police number but couldn’t do anything more. A friend who lives nearby came within 10 minutes and found the hotel’s front door locked. The same man had locked it. We later saw him pass on the street at least 4-5 times, and another guest recognized him from that morning, doing something with the front door key. Then he disappeared. It took an hour, a call to the police and fire department, countless calls to the Limehouse support line, and one guest locked inside while six guests were locked out before someone was sent to unlock the door. Support’s first suggestion was that someone would come check the door in the morning. People were finally let in at 11pm. I checked out the next morning. My refund for the rest of the stay was approved, but a week later I still hadn’t received it. They said it could take up to 14 days, which isn’t great when you have to urgently book somewhere else. The building and room security needs improving for this area. The fire code needs to be respected, too. None of the fire exits shown on the plan worked, and the locked front door was the only way out of the building.

This review is about a first-floor suite on Kaiserstr., with its windows facing the Rewe. I really can’t recommend booking there, especially on weekends. I love Limehome, but this location is awful. The two döner shops below fill the whole building with a bestial smell late into the night, and it inevitably gets into the apartments. Requests to close the doors fall on deaf ears and get rude replies. The shops also cause terrible noise by leaving their restaurant doors open to the stairwell. Their customers stay outside until 05.00 in the morning, shouting and smoking marijuana. You can’t even open the apartment windows to air it out. It’s loud and stinks all the time. No recommendation at all, unfortunately. The photos of the trash were taken at 03.00 in the morning.

We rented two rooms for two nights and couldn’t get a good night’s sleep. There was no air conditioning, and with the unbearable heat outside the rooms were stuffy. The area below the hotel was extremely noisy: Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday, there was noise, bottles, shouting, and screaming all night. We couldn’t open the windows because of the noise, and housekeeping started making another kind of noise in the morning. Horrible. The elevator wasn’t working, and while it was being renovated, there were no elevator call buttons on the floors. The hotel smelled of plaster from the renovations, too. One of our rooms had a kitchenette but no microwave. I don’t recommend it.
