The rooms were clean and the setting is a plus, but this is very poor value for money. Everything feels old-fashioned, almost like a retirement home. The connection is so weak that younger guests can't stream or play online, and there's no reception even on the Telekom or Vodafone networks.

The landscaped grounds feel idyllic, almost like a park, and the hotel's location is a real advantage. From the simple but appealing bar, large glass French doors open onto a wonderful, relaxing view of the park garden and pond. The breakfast buffet was good. We had a room at the back by the beautiful big pond, so you have to be okay with hearing frogs. Our room was only acceptable because it had a balcony. The furniture was worse than IKEA furniture and unappealing, and the room wasn't very clean. The bathroom was okay.

For €84, staying in a castle with a queen is an absolute insider tip. It has everything you need, with centuries of character. The original breakfast is sure to make you happy, even if you were happy already. We'd love to return. And the nonprofit organization is sensational. Thanks to everyone who made it possible.

The grounds behind the house are lovely, and the building looks great from there. It could be a peaceful spot too, if the frogs in the pond weren’t croaking for half the night. Inside was a letdown: long, chilly corridors and a room that felt completely outdated, like a retirement home. The wall-mounted TV is tiny, and the picture goes dark unless you’re looking from just the right angle. I can’t see where the three stars came from. For me, it’s more show than substance, and I don’t need to stay there again. Reviews are subjective, of course.
