The rooms are clean and well furnished, though the bathrooms are shared, with bathrooms on every floor. It’s a hostel rather than a hotel resort, and the food is homely and enjoyable instead of gourmet. For the price, I had a very enjoyable stay, especially with the breathtaking lake and mountain views.

The lake is right in front of the hostel, so there’s a lovely view at breakfast and dinner. Meals were great, with a good range of options at both, and vegetarians won’t go hungry. You can rent a bike or a stand-up paddleboard right there, which makes it easy to get out for some sport. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially Tomi. The bath and toilets were always clean. A great spot for enjoying nature and Walchensee, and I’d recommend it.
