Gartenstadt Hotel

For a long business trip, this is the best choice. Breakfast included perfect boiled eggs and other healthy options. You can work things out with the owner, and it seems anything is possible.

Our car broke down on a national holiday, and we had to wait for someone driving several hours to pick us up. The hotel let us stay in the room for many hours past the usual checkout time, free of charge, so we could be comfortable with our baby while we waited. That was an extremely kind gesture. The room was clean and nice, and the service was excellent.

Our main reason for staying was to sleep away from home before a medical appointment, and unfortunately the bed kept us from getting much rest. The mattress in our room really needs replacing. My wife called it “demonic.” Still, the hotel was clean, the staff we met were friendly, and the facility itself deserves credit. Our deluxe room was a good size and clean, and the shower had good pressure. Parking was free, either in the underground garage or in front. The breakfast buffet seemed to have enough for people who eat meat and dairy. We’re vegan, so our choices were limited, as we’re used to, but the staff offered oat milk, which I really appreciated for my cappuccino. I can’t give the highest rating given the reason for our stay.

There was plenty of free parking at the front and back. The room was in decent condition, with a shampoo dispenser in the bathroom and clean towels available. TV had only a few English-language channels. Breakfast was simple and standard, but I was a bit disappointed to find the scrambled eggs cold when I arrived.
