We spent 23 nights at the Sonnenheim in June/July 2025, in a recently added ground-floor room with a balcony. It was a very comfortable, enjoyable break in Mittenwald, and the quality was high throughout. We especially liked the room comforts and the breakfast. The service staff were incredibly efficient, getting our room serviced while we ate that first-class breakfast. Everyone was helpful, kind, and thoughtful. Thanks again to the Kuffler family, and special thanks to all the support staff. Michael Wood and Marsha Tomlin.

The Karwendel mountain range looks magnificent, giving the whole place a bit of a fairytale feel. It reminded me of staying in a Ghibli film. The rooms are cozy, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and breakfast is good and very reasonably priced. Drinks are available at reasonable prices too. Just a great hotel stay.

We picked this guest house because it's close to the train station, and were really pleased with our stay. Our top-floor room had twin beds and felt more like an apartment, with a bedroom area, living area and table, bathroom, and private balcony. The typical German breakfast was very good. Everything in town was an easy walk away, and we'd definitely stay here again.

We had lovely breakfast and friendly staff, and the location was excellent, right in the middle of town. The mountain views from our balcony were great. The one downside was how hot we got overnight under the winter blankets.
