Palazzo Hotel

The reception staff were friendly, but that was the only positive. The room looked decades out of date, as if untouched since the 1980s. Its carpet was stained and worn, the sheets smelled unpleasant, and there was hair all over the bathroom. The soap dispensers were empty, and the window faced a filthy, abandoned building. Wi-Fi didn’t work, and other guests were loud and disruptive at night. By morning, the whole hotel smelled of cheap frying oil from breakfast. Avoid this hotel and look elsewhere.

The service was friendly, but the rooms weren’t up to standard and there was no air conditioning. It was a place to stay when I had no choice for the price.

The bathroom was surprisingly clean, the only reasonable part of my stay. I had an attic room where my quilt and pillow had pop stains, and the curtains and walls had mold. The location is ideal for the train station, but there’s a homelessness container box nearby with rats. I wasn’t comfortable at all and checked out weeks early, then had to pay more to stay in an apartment instead. This place needs serious renovation.

The sheets were clean and the hot water worked, but that’s about the end of the positives. From our experience, it’s hard to believe this place meets any minimum standards. It was the worst place I’ve ever stayed, even compared with one-star youth hostels, and it seems crazy that it’s still operating.
