Golden Leaf Parkhotel Im Lehel

The staff were helpful and nice, and the rooms are roomy with a modern, trendy look. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the city center. I’d say it’s fine for a short stay, though the rooms need cleaning more often and the hospitality could use work. It feels more like staying in an Airbnb than getting the full hotel experience.

The room worked well for us, and the lobby looks great. There’s also a little bar downstairs, and the staff were friendly.

The location worked well, near the train and the old town, and the cleaning staff were friendly and accommodating. Front desk staff were okay, no complaints there. Our room was basic but a decent size and had what we needed. Still, this felt like an average hotel, closer to three stars than the advertised four, especially with no air conditioning except in the fifth-floor suites. I wouldn’t stay here in hot weather. We’d booked four months ahead but were given a different room from the one we reserved. When we asked to downgrade to get a feature we wanted, staff first tried to talk us out of it, then offered only €10 less per night even though the online price difference was much larger. Unlikely I’ll come back.

Our room was spotless, even under the desk where I had to reach for a rolling bottle, and housekeeping came daily to freshen it up. We’d thought they only came every other day. We stayed four nights in September. The website clearly said there was no air conditioning, but we expected the weather to be cool enough and it was. We opened the windows and slept comfortably. The beds were very comfortable, and the pillows were nice enough that I didn’t need my travel pillow. If we’re in Munich again, we’ll stay here.
