Harry's Home Hotel München

The front desk staff were nice, but the rest of the stay was frustrating. Several times they suddenly started full hallway renovations, spraying paint that smelled really strong and unpleasant in the room. The Wi-Fi also cut out randomly. On multiple occasions the dryers stopped after two minutes, even though I’d paid, and I didn’t get my money back.

We stayed about a week and a half in 2023, and having a stovetop in the room was great since my partner and I wanted to cook and save on eating out. The room was cute and pretty clean, which we both appreciated with our OCD. We only had one desk chair, though, so eating together was awkward. We asked for another; I think we had to ask twice, but one eventually arrived. The location was fantastic, right by the station and an easy ride to anywhere. We were there in December, when there was lots to do. A grocery store just outside made cooking convenient, though I think it was closed on Sundays. That’s not the hotel’s fault. It was quiet too. You could hear a train now and then, but we didn’t mind, and we even got to watch a steam train pass by several days in a row. That was the coolest thing. The service felt more self-service, so I gave it four stars. You had to pay to use the washer and dryer, but I liked being able to do laundry and pick up things like toilet paper from the self-service area. There was also an ironing spot, plus an oven, stovetop, and food items downstairs for cooking. We baked brownies and apple crumble in the oven, which was really fun. We did have a little panic when we came back late one night and found the front doors locked. We hadn’t realized we were meant to go around back with our keycards after hours. Someone at the desk noticed us and let us in, and we quickly figured out our mistake. There may have been a sign we missed. It’s a great budget place, and easy for getting around the city. We’d definitely stay again.

The location was quiet and pleasant, close to a market and the tram. We stayed five nights, but the room was never cleaned, even though the notice said it would be serviced after three nights. It would also be nice to have tissues in the rooms.

A very basic, friendly hotel with a bit of a hostel feel. The washing area was great, but the pillows were terrible and the water pressure was poor. I’d stay again.
