Hotel Carmen

We regretted booking here. From the moment my partner and I entered the lobby, we felt unwelcome and unsafe. The room smelled awful, so I sprayed my own perfume just to tolerate it. There was no AC, and the outside noise was too loud for us to open the window. We could hear everything from the next room. We felt itchy all night, and I honestly don’t know whether the bed covers were clean or hygienic. We stayed just one night, checked out early in the morning, and couldn’t wait to get out. It was overpriced and a total waste of money. Never again!

The location was amazing, and the staff, from reception to the breakfast waitresses, deserve five stars. At Hotel Carmen the room was plain, without extra comforts, but very clean and functional.

The room was clean, breakfast was good, and the location was good too. My only complaint was the desk lady’s rudeness. We walked in without reservations and asked about a room for two nights. She said one was available and quoted around €280, but only if we paid cash. I checked on my phone and booked the same hotel through my app for €201 for two nights. After I made the booking, the desk lady became rude and impatient with us.

The location was absolutely perfect, with the train just around the corner and easy to reach. My two friends and I had a triple room that was roomy, with comfortable beds. I loved the pillow, and I’m very picky. The front staff were nice, too. The breakfast was delicious, and the breakfast crew was amazing. Snjezana was wonderful, always smiling, kind, helpful, sweet, and funny. She went out of her way to make us feel special and comfortable. Nikolina was sweet as well, greeting us every morning and asking how we were and how the trip was going. Those two incredible ladies deserve recognition. Fabulous hotel, I definitely recommend it.
