Frederics München City Schwabing

I stayed from 24-29 Nov 2018, traveling alone for a mix of business and leisure, and ended up loving it. After reading the reviews I was worried, but my apartment was cosy for all five nights, with a really good view from room 701 on the 7th floor. It faced the back of the building, so there was less road noise. Booking through Expedia was much cheaper than the official site and included use of the kitchen stove. Check-in is strictly after 3pm, but you can leave your luggage at the reception office if you arrive early. Check-in itself was a breeze. Netto supermarket is right by the entrance, and the U Bahn exit is just one step away. That was super convenient, since my office was four stops away. Cleaning happened on Day 3. I usually took out my own rubbish each day to avoid smells. A staff member sorted out my TV and heater issue efficiently. He changed the remote battery and patiently showed me how to use the TV and setup box, even though his English was limited. I really appreciated that. I loved having a balcony even in winter, and I'd stay again if I return to Munich.

The location made things easy, with the train, bakeries, and more nearby. Staff were very helpful, and my room was quiet, clean, and spacious. It got very warm at night because the AC wasn't working yet. Using the kitchen amenities also cost extra, and that was expensive. I'd certainly stay here again.

The rooms are roomier and nicer than I'd expect at this price, and they're equipped for making your own breakfast. The breakfast itself was a voucher for a nearby bakery, where the choice was basically a sandwich and coffee. I'd hoped for a full continental breakfast, so that was disappointing. Otherwise, the place is fine.

I loved the small balcony and its nice view, especially for having coffee from the complimentary pods for the Nespresso machine. The room at Frederics München City Schwabing was clean and more spacious than other places I've stayed in Europe. It was a great location during Oktoberfest, just steps from the subway. Staff were clear about office hours and said we could leave the keys in the room for an early checkout. They also helped with directions and local recommendations. I only wish I could've stayed longer, and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting München.
