The front desk team was friendly, and the Wi-Fi worked fine. My room was modern, comfortable, and a decent size, with a Nespresso machine and a complimentary bottle of sparkling water. The breakfast room looked spacious, clean, and up to date, though breakfast costs an extra 19 Euro. A few things needed attention, including the broken bathroom door and cleaning under the bed.

We had to move rooms because the first bed was so uncomfortable. The Murphy bed squeaked, and its frame was uncomfortable enough that we took the mattress off and put it on the floor. The second room was much better, with a rollaway bed and AC.

The room was simple, bright, clean, and comfortable, and it was handy having an elevator for our heavy luggage. We borrowed a kettle for hot drinks in the evenings and mornings, with a refundable €10 deposit. There are a few small food shops and grocery stores on the side street, with more options about five minutes away on the main street. Marienplatz Christmas Market and the old town are around a 12-minute walk. Karksplatz train station, coming from the international airport, is about 15 minutes away. Getting the 20kg luggage over the cobblestones was not easy. We had a good stay.

Breakfast is served on the top floor, where you get a nice view over the city rooftops. The hotel is clean and comfortable, with everything functional, though there’s no luxury. It’s reasonably priced and within walking distance of Marienplatz and the beautiful domes. The illuminated HOTEL sign was a big help in finding the place.

We were put on the first floor, with reception directly below on the ground floor. At 6:30 am, a receptionist was talking loudly on the phone, and the sound carried through the whole floor. I went down and politely asked her to lower her voice. She barely let me finish before yelling at me. I’ve never seen behavior like that from hotel reception staff. A personal world record, and a huge disappointment.
