Motel One München-Olympia Gate

A useful base for the Munich Christmas markets, well away from the tourist areas and right by public transport. The staff were great and very helpful, and the breakfast buffet was very good. It's a basic business-class hotel, but a great inexpensive one.

The garden beside the cafe-bar is large and tidy, a pleasant place to sit and have a drink. I stayed for three nights; my room was very clean and, although small, fine for one person. The staff were kind and friendly. It's very close to the Olympic Park, with good transport options into the city center and elsewhere. The one downside was the lack of a mini fridge.

I was having dinner with friends on the outskirts of Schwabing, so the location worked perfectly for me even though the hotel isn't central. My room wasn't very large, but it was clean and had a nice bathroom. I heard a dog barking in the next room, so it seems dogs may be allowed.

Modern and clean overall, though I expected a larger room. There was no closet, just curtain rods, and the bathroom felt cramped.
