The Westin Grand Munich

The people were the best part of our stay. They were consistently kind, helpful, and friendly. At dinner in the hotel restaurant, Ninad Kulkami looked after our order splendidly and made sure the food was prepared well and brought promptly. His engaging, positive manner meant a lot to us. When we left at 2 AM to catch an early flight, the front desk gentleman was cordial and helpful too. We loved staying at the Western Grand Munich. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and our whole experience was excellent. We’d recommend it without reservation.

Julia Vanneman made breakfast a relaxed, positive start to the day. She welcomed guests warmly and used light humor that set a nice tone. I was impressed to see her helping the team clear tables while also managing the operation. She was attentive, organized, and present with both guests and staff. Her leadership lifted the guest experience and crew morale. Julia shows what an outstanding manager and team leader looks like.

After a long journey, the reception team’s bright smiles and sincere hello made me feel at ease as soon as I arrived. I felt genuinely welcomed, almost as if I were coming home instead of being just another guest. They were attentive and got my check-in done smoothly and quickly.

The spa could use a little improvement. The water felt slightly cool, and the area could be organized better, though these small things didn’t take much away from my stay. What really made me feel at home over my four days was the staff. From reception and the concierge to the people I passed in the hallways, everyone greeted me, noticed me, and treated me with respect. They were kind and attentive throughout. There was a small misunderstanding early on, but it was resolved straight away and handled so professionally that it became a positive example of their service. The staff included several Italian trainees who were extremely polite, well-mannered, and clearly well trained. Many were working in a country that wasn’t their own and still helped create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast was outstanding, with great variety and quality, truly a mega breakfast with everything you could wish for. The lounge was pleasant, elegant, and well maintained, a lovely place to relax. Check-in was warm and professional, and every interaction with reception felt kind and attentive. From my first moments there, the whole team made a strong impression. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, I have certain expectations from Marriott and especially Westin, where I usually look for attention to detail and care for guests. This stay confirmed them.
