Hotel Olympia

Really lovely. The room was great, the staff were great, and it’s well located near transport into the city.

The location is perfect, close to an Underground station, and parking is free. Staff are friendly. But the rooms are very dated, and the shared bathroom wasn’t the cleanest. The walls may as well be cardboard, you hear everything, even normal conversation from the neighbours. I could barely sleep unless I was used to sleeping beside a radio left on. There’s nobody at reception overnight, and not even an emergency contact if something goes wrong at the hotel. You’re left to call the police, since booking.com can’t help and the hotel has no night emergency number. For this money, I expected more. Most hostels offer cleaner bathrooms and better conditions. I won’t stay there again.

I stayed on the lower level and found the bed very comfortable. Don’t let the shared bathroom put you off: the doors lock fully, and the two spacious shower rooms lock too, so you have privacy. Breakfast is free, with lots of tasty choices in a typical German Frühstück. Staff were friendly and helpful, and they speak English. Hotel Olympia is only a three-minute walk from the U-Bahn. From there, you can get anywhere, and public transport is great, cheap, and easy to use. I had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it.

This hotel seems to be a stopover for most guests. We stayed two nights on the way from the Netherlands to Slovenia. It was easy to reach from the highway, and there was a private parking lot. The hotel was clean, and I liked the fairly firm beds. Breakfast was very good, and the nearby metro gets you to the city center in 15min.
