It’s clean, simple, and could do the job for a short visit to Munich, but the stay felt pretty basic. The room and facilities were okay without being anything special, and for the price I would have liked more comfort. Service was acceptable, though not memorable. Premier Inn Hotel Munich Schwabing wasn't a bad option, just a practical one I wouldn’t strongly recommend.

The room felt very cramped, the beds weren't very good, and the shower drained so slowly I had to wait for the water to go down. The window had no protective fence, which felt dangerous since I was on the top floor. I didn't like the hotel at all and wouldn't recommend it.

The hotel’s one clear plus is its location, close to a tram and bus stop, with a nearby kiosk that stays open late. Otherwise, Premier Inn fell well below my expectations and was very basic in its services. I had booked a King Size bed through Booking, but got two separate beds instead. When I asked to switch rooms, they said it might be possible after a few days. Since I was only staying three days, it never got resolved. Room cleaning isn't daily unless you tell reception. Reception is on the 6th floor, which is inconvenient when you come back tired. Coffee and amenities aren't replenished under this policy, so you have to go there yourself to get them. The room had weak heating and no fridge. The bathroom exhaust fan was almost useless, the toilet flushed by itself, and the internet was slow, unstable, and disconnected frequently.

The one real plus is the location. The hotel is at the end of a trolley line, and it’s a short ride into the city centre with one transfer. But if we had to choose again, we wouldn’t stay here. We flew in the day before Christmas with our son and are staying here over the holiday break. I’m not someone who usually writes reviews, and I’m glad others had a good experience. We normally pick places like Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express, so we’re not used to high-end hotels. Still, there are lots of stains on the carpet, the bathroom heater doesn’t work, and there’s a big crack in the mirror. We told the staff about these things. After a long travel day we just wanted to rest, though, and I wish I’d asked to change rooms then. The main room’s heat didn’t seem to work when we tried to cool it down for sleeping, so we’ve been sleeping with the second-floor window wide open. The bed feels temporary, it’s so light it rolls around easily. The mattress sags in the middle and doesn’t support us well. The pillows are very flat and hard, and I’ve woken up with a terrible headache every morning. There’s no fridge, no dresser, and the closet only has room for about four hanging items. The bathroom itself is adequate.

Good value for the price, and the hotel is clean and well maintained. The underground car park entrance is at the side of the road, and there’s a connection from the car park to ALDI, just a minute away, which is handy. It’s about a five-minute drive to Studentstadt P+R, a convenient way to get to central Munich. Overnight parking at the hotel costs €17. Be sure to use the designated hotel parking area. A woman told me she received a €30 ticket for parking in a non-designated lot.
