Hotel Obermaier

The breakfast was amazing, and the place is very welcoming to guests with kids. Rooms were big, clean, and had comfortable beds. It’s also really close to the bus and train station, which makes the location perfect.

When we got a flat tire, the hotel staff called our rental car company and helped us with the translation. That was such a relief, and the staff really went above and beyond for us. My family and I had an incredible stay at Hotel Obermaier in Munich. We were in the Junior Gallery Suite, which was beautifully designed and spacious. The kids loved having their own upstairs space, which made the trip more fun for them. Breakfast each morning was amazing, with lots of fresh, delicious choices and local ingredients. I especially loved the scrambled eggs. The hospitality and comfort made the stay unforgettable, and we can’t wait to return on our next Munich visit.

The room was clean and so was the bathroom, and the staff were super friendly. They cleaned the room every day. Breakfast was a 5+ and they really have almost everything right. The bus is a three-minute walk away, and the U-Bahn is six minutes from the hotel. The big downside was having no air conditioning. It was hot, and I couldn’t sleep until 23:00, when the temperature outside dropped. I had to leave the windows fully open all night. At 200 euros per night with breakfast, I expected AC. I hope they plan to install it, since it’s the only thing keeping the place from being perfect.

We were a larger group with three rooms, and one bed had bedbugs between the wall and mattress. I see that as a sign the rooms weren’t cleaned or checked properly between guests. We reported it, and the hotel offered a 10% discount and a refund for the parking ticket. Seriously? Now we all have to clean everything to keep them from spreading to our homes. The bar was nice, breakfast was good, and the rooms looked modern. It could have been a great stay, but the bedbugs ruined the whole experience for me.
