The rooms are on the small side, as you’d expect in an old historic building, but they’ve been updated nicely. We were right by Viktuelinmarkt, about 100 feet away, and could easily walk to all the Christmas markets. With eight of us, we wished there had been somewhere to meet up in the evening for a drink. The breakfast area was closed, so there wasn’t a common place for us to gather at night.

We loved our stay at Hotel Am Markt and would book it again. The rooms were very comfortable, and the staff were lovely. They let us leave our bags while our room was being prepared, and there’s a lift that can take larger bags. The location was ideal for exploring Munich’s Old Town on foot.

The location is the big draw here. Our room was nice, clean and quiet, and even had a fan. The bathroom was snug, but it worked for us. The lift is tiny and fits only two smaller people, so keep that in mind. Breakfast was good. If they ask, choose scrambled eggs, since you get more than with the fried egg, which is just one. Staff were kind and check-in was easy.

Great spot, and even though the room was small, it had what I needed. There’s a fan, but no AC. The shower pressure was so strong that water hitting my face while washing it hurt. The elevator is comically tiny, only big enough for one person. 🤣

You can walk straight out into the old town from this perfectly located hotel. The room was cozy, and I appreciated having a fan. The bed felt a bit hard to me, though I prefer a very soft one. Breakfast was good, and the scrambled eggs come in a bigger portion than the single fried egg. Bear in mind that you’ll need to walk to the hotel, since the nearest transport only gets you to about two blocks away. Also, it’s not suitable if you’re disabled. The elevator can’t fit a stroller, let alone a wheelchair, and barely has room for one person and maybe one slim suitcase. 😆
