Hotel Laimer Hof Nymphenburg Palace Munich

We loved our stay and will come back. The rooms are comfortable, the service is highly attentive, and both public transport and Nymphenburg Palace are an easy walk away.

Be very careful with the price. I booked directly on the hotel's website and was quoted much less than the amount charged at checkout, which was $544. The hotel was very average at best and cost far more than the other places we stayed. At the price I was quoted it would have been OK, but not for what we were charged.

Reception staff were warm and helpful, always greeting us with a smile, and it was handy to buy train tickets there. We had a pleasant stay, but the room needed some practical updates: the shower door was broken, and there was no coffee machine. We had to order coffee from reception and pay extra for it. The place has potential, though more attention to detail would make a real difference.

The location is excellent, but I'd suggest looking elsewhere if you're staying in Munich. We stayed three nights, September 27-30 2024, and this was easily the worst accommodation of our three-week trip through Munich, Croatia, and Spain. The Oktoberfest rate was an inflated 400 Euro a night. We'd never paid that much for a hotel, and it was our anniversary, so the disappointment was especially bad. The room was dirty, the furniture was so stained that we put towels over the couch and chair, and the fridge didn't work even after we plugged it in. Breakfast wasn't impressive either, though that's not why I'm writing this negative review. When we raised these issues, the hotel brought another fridge and an extra chair. The chair only made our small room more cluttered, and its back was broken. When I asked for a 1/3 refund, the hotel said they were very sorry but it was Oktoberfest and staff were doing their best because of an “intense turn over.” They offered 10%, or 132 Euro. Why should a hotel room be in such deplorable condition at any time? This isn't a 100-room hotel.
