ibis München City Süd

The room itself was comfortable and quite good, but we were left very disappointed by how the hotel dealt with a missing gift from our room. Staff first assumed nobody had come in to clean. They later checked their records and confirmed housekeeping had entered and cleaned the room after our first day. We think the item may have been thrown away by mistake, without enough care over what was being discarded. After we pushed the issue, they told us to contact the hotel by email, which felt unacceptable in the circumstances. Reception did try to help, but the staff there could only follow the instructions they’d been given. The gift may not have been worth much financially, but it was our personal belonging and it’s gone. We expected the matter to be handled more responsibly and professionally.

There are plenty of places to eat and supermarkets nearby, and the train and tram stops are within walking distance. The location worked well for us. Reception and cleaning staff were friendly, and there’s paid parking in the basement. The room was small, like other Ibis hotels, and although the washroom was clean, it had an unpleasant smell and the sink drain had a problem.

The price was reasonable for a central location, and breakfast was good. Just keep in mind that parking costs extra, 17 euros a day.

We were there for four nights. The rooms and breakfast were good. It’s quite a way from the centre, though there is a tram line.
