Munich Marriott Hotel

Samantha at the Front Office and Ayman at the breakfast buffet deserve a special thank you. Their warm, friendly manner made our stay better, and the whole team put in 100%. The rooms were consistently clean, public transport links were very convenient, and the breakfast selection had everything we wanted. The fitness and spa areas were well equipped and maintained, and a great place to unwind after a long day. We had an excellent stay at Marriott Hotel München, would choose it again, and are already looking forward to coming back. See you soon, and thanks so much!

The hotel is in more of a business area, which initially gave us pause, but once we got to know Munich's excellent subway, getting around was no trouble. We stayed seven nights and had a great time. The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was great, and we loved eating three times at the sports bar downstairs. The staff couldn't have been better. Highly recommended, and we're planning to return.

A bottle of champagne, a box of chocolates, and a handwritten honeymoon note were waiting in our room, a lovely surprise. Ayman and Sera also made breakfast special each morning with their warm smiles and extra care. The hotel impressed us as soon as we walked in. It was beautiful without feeling pretentious. Thanks to the whole team for making our honeymoon unforgettable!

The manager ultimately honored the breakfast price we'd agreed on at check-in, but it took an unpleasant reception encounter to get there. Staff said we were wrong, repeated themselves, and raised their voices, even though the mistake was theirs. That's false advertising. Reception and housekeeping need better training and service, which fell short of the Marriott hotels we've stayed at around the world. I took off another star because used glasses weren't replaced with clean ones and toiletries weren't replenished. We'd used the earbuds and needed one on our last night, but there was no replacement. The building's exterior looks dated, while the interior has been renovated beautifully. I liked the modern gold details in the lobby, and the cafe/bar and staircase look stunning. When we arrived at 6 p.m., our son's sofa bed wasn't made, there were towels for only two people and no robes. We had requested two extra pillows in the booking, then asked twice more, but they made up the sofa bed and brought only one pillow. After a tiring day, it was handy to eat at Champions Sports Restaurant on the ground floor, or EG. The portions were big and the food delicious. My son and husband were keen to swim, but after we asked and waited, we were told there were no robes and staff weren't sure if pool towels were available. At 8 p.m. on 29 Dec, the pool area was too crowded and chaotic. It was much better when they went first thing the next day, but they only got to swim once, and there were still no robes. The robes and extra pillow arrived in our room on day two, but the robes came too late. We chose the breakfast buffet because it was supposedly only €19 per person and half price for kids, which seemed good value. It was very crowded. At checkout, reception repeatedly told us that price was wrong, as if we couldn't hear, until the manager was called. The 24/7 Market by the lobby has some free infused water and refreshments. We bought sparkling water before realizing the hotel supplies fresh Bavarian mineral water, still or sparkling, at stations around the building. There's a refillable glass bottle in the room, which is good value and more environmentally friendly than plastic.
