Hotel Meier City München

The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast offered a wide variety of good food. My room was clean, though small. I can only give the hotel four stars because there’s no air conditioning. Even with mild weather and cool nights, the windows opened only a little, so there wasn’t enough fresh air or breeze. The room quickly got hot and muggy.

Hotel Meier is in a superb central spot, just a quick walk from the train station. The room was small, as was the shower, but it was very clean and perfectly serviceable. Breakfast was decent rather than outstanding, and the staff were helpful. We didn’t realize when booking that there was no AC. We weren’t there during peak heat, or the room would have been unbearable. They provide a fan, but while we had it running, people started smoking outside, so opening the window wasn’t an option either. I’d happily book here in the other three seasons, but not in summer.

We were there during the last days of Oktoberfest 2019, and the price was extremely high, far too much. The hotel is close to Hauptbahnhof, with friendly, helpful staff and comfortable beds, though they’re a little narrow. Breakfast is extensive and varied.

The main drawbacks were the bathrooms and elevator. Some rooms have very small bathrooms, and the single elevator can fit two people at most. The rooms themselves are on the small side but have good air circulation. Like most European hotels, there’s no air conditioning, though they keep fans in every room for warm months. Breakfast was great and served for most of the morning. For the price, it was a good stay.
