Hotel Mirabell by Maier Privathotels

The Turkish and Middle Eastern neighborhood has good options for Middle Eastern food, and there are plenty of places to eat and shop nearby. A supermarket is right across the street, and the main station and major tourist attractions are walkable. The lobby has a free machine for coffee, tea, and hot water, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. One small thing: the pillows smelled a bit, so it would be good to refresh them now and then.

Breakfast really made our three nights enjoyable, with a great buffet and quality choices. The hotel is a lovely little boutique place, conveniently close to the central station and affordable for a three-star stay in a big city. Our room was smaller than what we’re used to in standard German hotels, but that didn’t bother us. Just note there are a few steps between reception and the elevator, and the breakfast room is downstairs if mobility is an issue.

The rooms are cute, clean, and thoughtfully kept, though on the small side, and the staff were so kind. It’s easy to find, just a four-minute walk from Munich train station. I booked after reading about the breakfast and was very pleased: the space isn’t big, but it had everything I wanted, including honey you scoop from a wax plate and a machine for making your own vegetable juice. The eco-friendly food was beautiful and delicious, just my kind of thing. 🤩

The staff were fantastic and gave us helpful tips on places to eat and visit. I also liked the trolley on floor 6 stocked with towels and extra toiletries, a nice idea. There’s plenty of nearby food, from Arabic, Afghan, and American options to authentic German cuisine, and many tourist spots are within walking distance. The main public transport hub is two blocks away. Our room felt small, and there are stairs both before the elevator and on the way to the free breakfast, so this place won’t work if you can’t manage stairs.
