Park Hotel Laim

Everything was spotless, and the reception team were welcoming and helpful. The rooms feel a little dated, but I’d happily stay again. The hotel is in a great spot, right next to the U-Bahn station.

The hotel made getting to and from Oktoberfest simple. It’s right by a U5 station, just a few stops from the fairgrounds, and the same line takes you to the city center. Staying opposite the center also meant avoiding many of the festival crowds. The neighborhood itself is handy, with a bakery, restaurants, and a bank within walking distance. I spent five nights at Park Laim during Oktoberfest. Staff were easy to contact and helpful, and the rooms were comfortable and cleaned every day.

I expected more after reading the other reviews. The mattress felt pretty hard, which wasn’t great for my back problems. The bar drinks were okay, but too expensive for their quality. Breakfast felt repetitive, and I didn’t like the oil used for the scrambled eggs. I’d give it a 2.5 if that were an option.

We found the price very reasonable even during Oktoberfest. Our hotel was nicer than the one our friends stayed in, and we paid over 100 euros less. The staff were kind and accommodating, even letting us check in early, and breakfast was delicious. The hotel was clean and had A/C, which can be hard to find in Munich. The U-Bahn made it easy to get to most places without changing trains, and the Oktoberfest grounds were about 15 minutes away. We stayed two nights at Park Hotel Laim and had a perfect time. We’ll definitely come back.
