Pension&Hostel Anna - Monteurzimmer

I booked this place for a one- or two-night work stay in Munich, where I'm often in the city and know the area, prices, and alternatives. An event had driven most other hotels to sell out or charge unreasonable rates, so I didn't have much choice. The reviews I'd read beforehand had shocked me, but my stay turned out very different from the negative comments. The management was pleasant, attentive, and flexible about check-in as long as I let them know in advance. There's no in-person reception or automatic doors, which I can understand at this price. They speak several languages and were well prepared for guests' arrivals. The room was very clean, and I found helpful bathroom signs explaining how to use some features. I saw no insects at all, despite reading comments about them. There may not be blackout curtains, but that didn't bother me with the early mornings and budget price. I was pleasantly surprised to find a refrigerator in the room. This is a budget stay, so anyone expecting four- or five-star conditions will be disappointed. If you're glad to stay in a very nice Munich neighborhood close to the center for a fraction of the usual cost, you may find it more than satisfactory. Thanks to the management. I hope to return. This is probably the first review I've ever written, because I wanted to say I disagree with the negative comments I read earlier.
