Hotel im Bunker

The room was bright, spacious, modern and clean, and the bed was comfortable. I loved it. Getting in was easy for me: the touchscreen is sensitive, so just touch it lightly while entering the code. Nearby there's everything you need, including a small shopping centre with parking for €4 all day and two Italian restaurants. Public transport gets you to the city centre in about 25 minutes.

The room was basically a studio apartment and had a comfortable bed, but I can't recommend this hotel. We waited hours for a reply about the door code. A friendly maid gave us contact numbers, but nobody answered either one. The location is good, right by the S-Bahn station and lots of shops. Since we couldn't get a response from Bunker, we checked two nearby hotels, and both were very willing to help us. We eventually got the code, but customer service was absent.

Avoid this hotel. I made a reservation last May or June, I think, then found out I was pregnant at the end of June and decided to cancel. I emailed or called their number, but by this October, I still hadn't received a refund. They took the full payment quickly even though I booked well in advance. Five months have passed, and there's still no refund. The service around refunds has been poor.

My reservation through Booking.com had been in place for six months, with check-in due at 14:00. At 16:00, just as I was about to arrive, I got an email saying it had been cancelled at the last minute. There was no explanation or apology. I was left in an unfamiliar city without a place to stay, trying to find something at the last minute. I expected advance notice or some help finding alternative lodging, but got nothing. That was an incredibly unreliable and unprofessional experience, and I can't recommend this hotel. If reliability and basic decency matter to you, look elsewhere.
