Gutshof-Restaurant

The location deserves five stars, and the hotel staff were very cooperative.

The waitress was lovely, and the food was good, but it cost far too much. The breakfast servings were generous, yet the rolls were pre-baked, which felt outrageous at those prices. We also found glass, hair, fur, and crumbs beneath our table while the café was open and serving customers. That normally wouldn't bother me in the afternoon, but this was Mother's Day breakfast. We'd traveled quite a way and checked the website prices before setting out, so the increase when we arrived was a shock. I understand costs like gas have gone up, but €3 more for each breakfast and nearly €5 for a coffee seemed a lot. I used to like coming for the cakes and tarts, which are really good. But after the price increase and seeing the owner's replies to reviews, which seemed to criticize customers instead of using the feedback to make decisions, this was probably my last visit. I find those comments disrespectful and unacceptable from a business owner.

The café is nicely decorated and in a great location. The portions were generous, and the food tasted good, but we won't return for breakfast because the order and what arrived didn't match what the menu promised. We came in a little after the rest of our table. Someone said they'd take our order shortly, but we waited about 20 minutes, with roughly half the tables occupied. We ordered a cheese breakfast, two drinks, and scrambled eggs with bacon. The drinks and eggs came fairly quickly, though the hot chocolate was missing the cream listed on the menu, and the eggs had just two small bacon slices for an extra €1. After another 15 minutes, we asked about the breakfast and learned it had been forgotten. When it finally came, the plate had six slices of Gouda with a little fruit and veg, rather than the Gouda, Camembert, and Geramont listed. With prices this high, we expected the items on the menu.

We tried the estate breakfast, served beautifully with warm rolls that made it feel fresh. The café was comfortable and nicely furnished, and the service was friendly and attentive. The hotel is modern and very pleasant, with excellent parking right outside. A perfect score from us!
