Holiday Inn Express Neunkirchen by IHG

The staff were welcoming and friendly, but the limit of three people per room made things difficult for families. A single parent with three children, or a family of four, would have to reserve two rooms. That doesn't seem practical or family-friendly. I hope management reconsiders the policy so families can be accommodated better.

The hotel was clean, with a great breakfast and a good location. Sleep was another matter: people raced cars in the big parking lot nearby every night until 2 or 3 am, so I couldn't leave the window open. The air conditioning worked only so-so.

Parking costs €10, despite Google Maps saying it was free. The standard double bed is very small, maybe 1.5 m by my estimate, below average in my experience. For one person it's fine, but it feels like an upgrade is being pushed. The rooms are clean and the service is friendly, and if you're alone and just need a night, it's okay. But the air conditioning didn't work, which they know about, and there's noise from both the railway and, worse, the parking lot. Cars gather there with loud music and do burnouts or something, and there were also people outside. It might be less bad if the AC worked, but sleeping with the window open isn't really an option.

A decent breakfast and all the basics covered, though nothing stood out. Parking at the hotel costs extra.
