Hotel Drei Raben

Drei Raben is quiet and peaceful at night, even though it’s in the city centre, only a few hundred meters from the Hauptbahnhof. The hotel’s themed rooms pay tribute to Nürnberg’s history, from the famed Meistersingers and First Railway to Toy Town and more than 15 other themes. It’s one of the most distinctive boutique hotels I’ve seen. The service is personal, the hotel is exceptionally clean, and the staff speak multiple languages. They serve seasonal local food. In the evening, solo travelers can mingle with international guests at cocktail hour, children can play board games in the lobby, and musicians can play the lobby piano. The team greets you by name, remembers your preferred drink, and looks after you like family. It’s hard to put their kindness, professionalism, hospitality, care, and absolute Gemütlichkeit into words. For transparency, I’ve known the proprietor for decades. We’re repeat guests, first visiting with my parents and now with my wife, and she and her team have been consistently wonderful. Hotel Drei Raben has brought my family great joy and many memories. What a fun, quirky place. We had a fabulous stay, and every staff member was friendly, helpful, and happy to chat. It was a fun challenge to spot all the “easter egg” ravens. The happy hour was a lovely touch, and we enjoyed the story on the room ceiling. Staff also gave us great suggestions for what else to see in Nurnberg and the surrounding area.

The evening drink on the patio was a lovely welcome before we headed to dinner, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. We also appreciated the thoughtful layout and exquisite details throughout the hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, with a special thanks to Markus. In a perfect spot in historic Nuremburg, this boutique hotel gave us one of our best European hotel experiences after many years of travel. We couldn’t have asked for better.

The breakfast was the best I’ve ever had at a hotel. Everything tasted delicious, there was a wonderful range, and it was beautifully presented, with many items in adorable glass jars. I also understand why so many guests return. I hope to be one of them someday. I stayed three nights over the summer and felt looked after from the moment I arrived. My room, The Three Ravens, was at the very top of the hotel, spotlessly clean, and unlike anywhere I’ve stayed before. It had dormer windows with great city views, high ceilings, beautiful wood beams, and even a clawfoot tub. The staff suggested restaurants and personally arranged reservations, offered me a welcome glass of wine, and made time for pleasant conversations throughout my stay.
