INVITE Hotel Nürnberg City

Breakfast was very good, though the rooms are extremely basic. There was no water bottle, safe, or coffee-making set. The neighborhood isn't the prettiest part of Nürnberg, but the hotel is close to the station, which is handy. I'm not sure the price is justified.

The bakery on the corner worked better for us than the €14 continental breakfast, which was just bread and lunch meat. The staff didn't seem welcoming, and even simple questions felt like a bother. It's a basic place in an iffy area: a bed, toilet, and shower, with no cups, hand soap, washcloths, iron, mini fridge, or kettle. Coffee and parking cost extra, and the vending machine was broken. The pillow was flat and thin. Open the window and street noise comes in, though some people may not mind that. The bus and tram stops are nearby, and the airport is about 30 minutes away by tram. Parking is €10 a night. A tiny bag of Haribo gummies on the pillow was cute.

For the €70 we paid, this was a good deal, very similar to Ibis Budget but cheaper. We spent one night, Saturday to Sunday in August 2025, as two adults. We were welcomed nicely, and both the hotel and our room were clean. The bathroom was clean and big enough, too. The tram stop is only a three-minute walk away, with three stops to the city center. There was no air conditioning, but a large fan did the job. If the price is still similar when we return to Nürnberg, we'd stay here again.

The room size was okay, but getting luggage up a flight of stairs was a pain. The toilet setup is absurd: you have to climb up to reach the shower, which is slippery and not suitable for older or disabled people. I wonder how that meets German standards. When the light and exhaust come on, a bad smell comes up from the drain. It's a walk to the old city, though the tram is nearby.
