Jura Hotel

We couldn't shower because there was no hot water, and they weren't able to fix it. During our two- or three-night stay, we also found nothing within walking distance in that industrial part of town. The room itself was comfortable. Check-in was strange: a key with my name on it had been left in the main lobby, where anyone could reach it. There was no sign saying “jura”; only the neon Hotel lettering, so it was a little hard to spot. I'd probably stay somewhere else if I came to nuremberg again.

I've never stayed in a worse hotel. The service was just bad. When I asked them to fix our shower because it wasn't working, the only answer I got was, “Wait 30 minutes,” and it still didn't work. Then she said to me, “Chicken, where are you from?” I don't understand that.

I spent one night there in August. The room door used a card, and I accidentally shut mine inside when I left. A disabled person in a wheelchair was still in the room. Reception had stopped working, so I called the number posted on the door and asked for a spare key. No one helped us. The owner, who answered the phone, hung up even though he knew a disabled person was locked inside. I also tried to get help through other hotel guests, but that went nowhere. The only option I could think of was crossing the balcony from the next room on the third floor and trying the window. I don't recommend anyone do that. I'm shocked and saddened by how guests were treated. Avoid this hotel!

I booked two nights through Booking.com in the Jura Hotel building, in a room with beds and a shower. The rooms were clean, though they had a sort of “low security prison” look, and there was a complimentary bottle of mineral water. The shower fan is wired to the light, so it makes noise; you can avoid that by showering in the dark or using another light. Don't expect a hotel experience. It's in an industrial area, and there was no staff to greet us. We paid €138,50 per night, breakfast not included, which was way too much, though it seemed to reflect supply and demand at the time. I didn't see a single staff member during the stay, then five days later they charged me for a “no show.” What was that about? Avoiding local tourist tax duties?
