The garden had lots for the children to do, including a zip line, climbing area, ping-pong table, room for badminton and soccer, and a sandbox. The owners were very nice and even had masks available for painting on rainy days. We could also sit outside under cover and listen to the gentle water sounds. We stayed last August in a cozy apartment, and were allowed to use the pool in the large garden. It was a very quiet area, though naturally the children made a bit of noise. There are so many lovely places to visit nearby and it's easy to get to them. We loved the gigantic Lichtenhain Waterfall, and the train ride there was something special. We also went boating on the Amselsee (Blackbird Lake), visited a climbing park and Königstein Fortress with its many cannons, and went to a swimming pool in Pirna. There were paddle steamer rides on the Elbe River, miles of cycle paths, and hiking, with the scenery changing around every bend. The Bastai Bridge was a must-see too. We had a wonderful holiday. There are several nice spots to sit in the sun or shade, but unfortunately there's no view from the garden. The apartment is small yet comfortable, and the kitchen with its dining table is also the entrance. The bathroom is spacious and has a lovely rain shower. To get to the children's room, you have to pass through the master bedroom, so neither side gets much privacy. The beds are decent. The terrace garden has loads of insects. I picked tomatoes and basil today and made a salad with them. For the kids there's a zip line, rope bridge, sandbox, ping-pong table, and a pool about 3 meters across and 130 cm deep. Inside, we really miss having a sofa and a few comfortable chairs. There isn't anywhere to relax except the bed.

The bathroom and the apartment smelled awful, with the bathroom smelling of excrement. It hadn't been aired or heated. After arriving at this vacation rental, we found it so bad that we left after one night. The owners were extremely unfriendly. Getting to the apartment involved a steep, slippery access path, making it nearly impossible to carry a suitcase and very difficult for older people. There was no comfortable seating, the television was very small and old-fashioned, and there were no instructions. The double bed was an old, worn-out sofa bed, and the two beds in the second bedroom had equally worn mattresses. We slept badly and woke with backaches and headaches. There was hair from previous guests in the shower, dust bunnies under the beds, and the kitchen wasn't clean either. We really can't recommend this holiday apartment.

We were two grandmothers staying with our grandchildren for two weeks, with both beautiful weather and rainy days, and had a wonderful time. The children could use the swimming pool and homemade zip line in the garden. The Weidlichs were child-friendly, helpful, accommodating, and always happy to have a chat.
