Privatzimmer San is an old, sprawling building, with a steep staircase up to the first floor where the holiday apartment is. It's dated, but charming, clean and well maintained. The landlady was friendly and flexible, and left our key in a set place so arriving was stress-free. You can book directly with her. My daughter and I stayed here three times while visiting Europa-Park in Rust, just under 5 km from Ringsheim. The apartment sleeps five: there's a 1.40m bed in the main bedroom, plus a bunk bed and a single bed in the children's room. All were comfortable, and I slept really well. There's no kitchen, stove, microwave or kitchen sink. The only water is in the bathroom, which has a toilet, sink, shower and washing machine. Its illuminated mirror cabinet has plenty of room for toiletries. For meals, there's a table and four chairs, a kettle, Senseo coffee machine, coffee pods, tea and sugar, plus five mugs, cake plates, cereal bowls and sets of cutlery. There's also a refrigerator with a small freezer compartment. You can't cook, but sandwiches and cereal were enough for our short visits, and we washed dishes in the bathroom. A small antenna TV is near the dining area, and there's no Wi-Fi. You can park in the narrow courtyard directly outside. Across the road there's a pleasant little beer garden where you can wind down before bed, if you're not too tired after Europa-Park. On the weekdays we were there, it got quieter after 10:30 p.m. and quiet hours started at 11:00 p.m. I can't say how it is on weekends, and you can sometimes hear the train. There's also a Norma supermarket and a kebab shop on the main road between the apartment and Europa-Park. The train to the park is a five-minute walk away. That could save the €10 parking fee, though I don't know the fare.

The hostess was friendly and accommodating, but beware if you have a cat allergy. There are cats in the house, and we noticed allergy symptoms upstairs even though the cats live on the ground floor. We slept quite poorly despite taking medication. It's a shame, though the hostess can't be held responsible beyond mentioning it for future guests.

The hostess was very nice, and after a day at Europa-Park we slept wonderfully and felt relaxed. It had been a while since we visited, but we didn't see or hear any cats, despite what another post said. 🤷‍♂️
