There’s a good Indian restaurant downstairs. The place itself is basic, but it was quiet and clean, and the price was reasonable.

Communication was quick and friendly. The place is small and simple, but clean and quite nice.

The rooms felt cold and lifeless, almost like a prison, and the stairwell smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Outside, around the market, the noise was intense through the day and evening. The church bells start at 6 a.m., so be ready for that too. My first night, I woke around 5 a.m. to loud shouting and banging. The other nights were much the same, with lots of noise from other guests who seemed somewhat antisocial. Check-in and checkout were straightforward, though the owner didn’t really understand me. For this price, there are much better places to stay in the area.

Breakfast isn’t provided, though there are several places to get it in Rochlitz. I can see how it might be too much work for a small guesthouse with only 6 rooms. We stayed one weekend night in a double room. It was clean and practical, but don’t expect a 4-star hotel room. The location is right by the market square, and on weekends you can park directly in front of the guesthouse. A good fit for a short trip.
