Hotel Am Triller

We stayed in one of the hotel apartments for over six months while our home was being renovated, and the family who run this historic hotel made us feel at home from our first day to our last. We’re so grateful they made room for us. The kids loved the pool and the kind staff, and they already miss staying here. We’d walk about ten minutes to downtown, where it was easy to find a place to park the car. The german-french garten is also close by, with outdoor activities throughout the seasons. On New Year's Eve we watched the fireworks over the city from the aisle window. Thanks again for being such gracious hosts.

The main snag for us was the electric car charging point. It was inside the garage, which gets locked at night, and we hadn’t been told that. We couldn’t charge overnight, which caused a problem the next day, but we still had to pay for parking. Otherwise, the hotel was modern, clean, easy to find, and well located. Our room was spacious and well kept, the staff were friendly and helpful, and there was plenty of parking indoors and out. They also had e-Steps available for getting to nearby shops and restaurants.

My comfort room worked well for one person. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom spotless, and there was a kettle with tea and instant coffee. I also had a desk and a little table. I didn’t eat at the hotel, so I can’t comment on the food. It’s on a quiet street, which I liked, a few minutes’ walk up a steep hill from the river and near the museum. My room looked east toward a nearby hill, though I couldn’t see the centre. The staff were very friendly. Most spoke English, and anyone who wasn’t fluent was happy to get help.

The location was peaceful, close enough to downtown, and gave me a great city view. My room was comfortable and had good facilities, especially the bed. There was a wall tattoo from „Saarlegenden“ beside it, a funny touch of local spirit. Everyone I met at reception and breakfast was friendly and smiling. I didn’t have time to use the pool this visit, unfortunately.
