The castle is interesting, and booking an apartment lets you visit and use large parts of it. The whole complex is beautiful, with atmospheric holiday apartments, including one in a historic wing.

We stayed in the little outbuilding shown in the photo during a summer school seminar. The owner called it the “hunter’s lodge.” It was clean and cozy, and in summer you can pick all kinds of apples from the trees. It’s a stunning place for a break from civilization, with plenty of peace and quiet, plus sheep.
