The room was roomy and had a fridge, kettle, coffee, a desk with a decent chair, and a great bed with two pillow options. It felt a little warm, though the fan was decent, and there was a smell, so we opened the window. The bathroom was spacious, with a great shower and a make-up mirror. Breakfast was good, with nice coffee. If you're making a latte machiato, use the large glass! Staff were very friendly, especially the breakfast lady with short dark hair, and they let us check in 30 minutes early. It's an old-fashioned hotel and VERY clean.

Speyer has plenty of heritage, good restaurants, lively streets, and lovely countryside and wineries just beyond town. Hotel Residenz worked well for us on both family stays over the last two years. The management was helpful and offered useful tips about the area. It's child friendly, and the rooms are spacious with all the amenities you need. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast and charming bar. I'd recommend it to anyone.

The staff were a pleasure, including one very handsome member who always greeted us with a smile and a "guten morgen!" I like seeing people who seem to enjoy their work. My mother and I both loved our three days here in the summer of 2015, while on a trip to discover our German roots. The hotel feels charming and pleasant, and our room was lovely, well appointed, and much roomier than I expected from a European hotel. I'd definitely recommend it for a trip to the fatherland.

We had three rooms for a family convention, and they were roomy and comfortable. Asking for yard-side rooms meant it was very quiet. The historic building has been carefully restored, and the staff were friendly and professional. The location is perfect for getting to Speyer's highlights, and the American breakfast was great.
