Kronenhotel Stuttgart

The room had comfortable space, and I tried the sauna as well, which I loved. The breakfast buffet was the best I’ve ever seen and tasted!

I came here on vacation from America and had a great experience. The hotel sits in a beautiful, quiet corner of town, a few minutes’ walk from a large shopping and dining strip and the rail system. The rooms were pleasant and comfy, and the complex surrounds a lovely garden square that made a great place to gather. Staff were friendly, attentive, and spoke English well.

The courtyard was my favorite part of the hotel. Hydrangeas filled it, and it was peaceful to sit among the flowers listening to the birds. The breakfast was delicious, with enough variety that I ate well as a vegetarian, even though German breakfasts of meats and cheeses aren’t what I’m used to as an American. Staff at the desk were very welcoming, and they let me straight into my room when I arrived. Getting there was frustrating after a terrible train ride, nearly two hours standing shoulder to shoulder in the heat. I found the route hard to navigate, with wide streets and crosswalks that seemed to switch sides from block to block, followed by an uphill walk. I was hot, sweaty, and annoyed. My single room was spotlessly clean but very small, with a tiny closet and just one hanger, so I couldn’t fully unpack. It was also too hot. Even with the A/C running constantly at 23 degrees, the room stayed warmer than the mild weather outside. Leaving the window open at night helped cool it down. The street was very quiet, and I had a nice view of the wooded hill. Heat was the main downside. I really enjoyed my stay in Stuttgart and would book a larger room next time. I just wish this one had been cooler.

The small single-bed room was adequate, though a little stuffy. It had enough closet space and a lock box large enough for a 16" laptop, and the bathroom was modern and up to par. They don’t offer laundry services. The location is good, close to the central station, public transport, and the old town, yet somehow quiet and secluded. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. I had a good stay and would come back.
