Mirage City Hotel Stuttgart

The service felt very average, and the whole place seems suited to little more than arriving, sleeping one night, and heading out. There are small rough edges everywhere. The sign says “3 stars superior,” but I never found anything superior about it.

I couldn't sleep because the room was so dusty that breathing felt difficult. There was a dried bloodstain on the curtain, which made me uncomfortable, and the room wasn't clean. The hotel did respond promptly when I contacted them.

The location worked really well, about five minutes on foot from the main train station and around 10-15 minutes from the center. You can reach the hotel by stairs, or take a route around them that adds about 4-5 minutes. The staff were friendly, and the bathroom was quite nice and clean. The room itself needs maintenance. At first glance it looked clean, but there was no main light, so we had to walk well into the room to switch on a lamp. One lamp's switch was actually broken. I also found something sticky under the bed that was hard to get off my hand. My side of the bed was uncomfortable and felt ready to be replaced, though the other side was fine. Decent for a 3-star place, but they should look after it better.

It was so hot in the room, with no AC, that sleeping was impossible. The water stayed hot no matter how much I turned it 😅. When I asked the front desk for a nearby laundromat, the big guy there just said, “you do google.” They don't seem trained in customer service. Travel apps say the front desk is open 24 hours, but staff are only there until 10pm. That's why the doors get locked then, and guests have to use their key cards if they're coming back late. If I could give this hotel 0, I would.
