Ferienhof Hoppe

This is a delightfully ordinary guesthouse where you feel at home right away. We're here for the second time, which is why it gets five stars across the board. You can set off on lovely walks straight from the house, and plenty of other beautiful places are a drive away. The children have a play barn full of things to do, including go-karts, a zip line, a climbing frame, and more.

Our young daughter was fascinated by the animals on the small farm, and we all had a wonderful five days with the Hoppe family. The room was clean and the service excellent. Grandma Hoppe's cooking was fantastic, unlike anything we've experienced before. There are several nearby places to visit by car, though they're not close enough to walk to, including Fort Fun, Sorpesee, and Aquamaris. We had such a good time that we'll most likely come back in the next few years.

We spent 11 days with the Hoppe family and our two boys, and it was a wonderful stay, especially for the children, who had such a great time. The family were friendly and helpful. We'd definitely vacation there again.

The booking and communication were great, and the hosts answered our questions beforehand. We arrived for a spontaneous long weekend and felt welcome right away. Breakfast was excellent, and we loved the peaceful setting, sweet animals, and good range of ride-on toys for the kids. The playground had a zip line, and there was a small garden growing currants and gooseberries. Saying goodbye to pony Keks and farm dog Luna was especially hard. Our room was a good size and clean. The facilities are a little dated, but everything worked and was adequate. The location made day trips easy, with Fort Fun, Sorpesee, Plettenberg Bay, and Arnsberg all within reach. We'd love to come back for another long weekend, or stay even longer if the kids get their way! :)
