There’s plenty of hiking and swimming around here, and the friendly landgasthof next door serves good Bavarian food from 12:00-20:00, with a small play area. The little castle is fun to explore. About half the rooms are in the castle, renovated in 1997, while the rest are across the courtyard in a modern building. We had no hot water for showers in that building because of a temporary problem, and the Wi-Fi was weak. That’s what kept this from being five stars.

The staff were friendly, and there’s a chance to play ping pong. Nice location too.

We came for a community family retreat, and the castle has a lovely atmosphere. The food was delicious, and the place has a wonderful feel to it. The friendly reception service especially stood out.

The playroom felt really cozy, and the food was very good. Staff were polite and friendly throughout. The rest was just what we’d hoped for: long duvets, firm slatted bed bases, and steady mattresses.
