Casa Verde

Hotel Casa Verde is well placed for being near the Moselle vineyards, and the food was plentiful and delicious, from the finger food through the main courses. We held our wedding at the restaurant and had our guests stay for the weekend. The service was great from the start, and they made arranging the menu and party easy. The family is warm and clearly devoted to hospitality.

The paella turned out to be a highlight, cooked by owner and chef Oli in the BBQ area while we had drinks and danced. It was delicious, beyond what we expected, and guests praised both the food and his cooking. We'd chosen it as the main course on Katharina's recommendation, though with our time limits we hadn't tasted it beforehand. With my Spanish background, I was prepared to be critical. The starters were also a hit: spring rolls with a lovely sauce, bacon-wrapped dates that disappeared fast, plus salads, cheeses, and more. We were grateful for how the family and staff at Hotel Casa Verde made our wedding memorable. The family feel helped everyone feel at home, and they fitted all our guests into the cozy rooms, giving priority to those staying longer. It was an easy, familiar experience. We spent months looking for a venue and found this family-run place with its charming Spanish feel. At first, we weren't sure they could meet our expectations on our modest budget, but meeting Katharina reassured us. She welcomed us warmly and took care with every detail. She and the team made the hotel look lovely with decorations, arranged tables, and dedicated spots for souvenirs, cake, and our DJ. We brought some decorations too, and the owners blended them in smoothly. Their warmth, care, and hospitality made the day one we'll always remember.

The rooms are roomy and the service is friendly, though the rooms are simple and breakfast is basic. It was good value, at least. On weekends, parties downstairs may get noisy, the restaurant can be closed, and breakfast may be late. There's a good Italian restaurant right next door.

It's a pleasant spot near Trier, though you'll probably need a car to get around. The rooms are clean and prices reasonable, and dinner is very good, if a little expensive. The owner is nice and easy to communicate with. Parking is limited to about four spaces, and they're often taken. My one real complaint: housekeeping starts at 10am and wakes you, even on Sundays.
