Hotel Paulin

We had a really enjoyable breakfast, and the owner was great and very helpful. Trier was easy to explore on foot over our three days, with the Hauptstrasse, historic sites, and lots of restaurants nearby. It's a comfortable hotel in a great spot, and the rates are very good. You're in the city, so there's some noise, but it was fine.

The staff were thoughtful and kind. When they learned we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, they specially sent us champagne, which felt like sincere hospitality. The hotel was easy to find, about eight minutes from the train station. Our stylish, well-equipped room had a wide, comfortable bed and USB sockets for charging.

We were able to check in early and leave late, and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. They spoke English too. Breakfast had a huge range, including tea, sandwich meats, and all kinds of yogurt toppings. The bed was very comfortable, and the bedroom and bathroom were a good size for Americans. Porta Nigra, shops, restaurants, wineries, and many historic buildings were all within a 5 to 10 minute walk. The price was lower than I expected for the setting. Highly recommend!

Breakfast had yogurt, fruit, granola, fresh meats, cheeses and breads, fried or boiled eggs, six kinds of coffee drinks, ten teas, and orange juice. The location was excellent, one block from Porta Nigra and lots of places to eat. The staff were incredibly courteous and treated guests like close friends. We arrived early and they kindly let us check in to drop off our bags. Our elegant room had blue accents, and the bed was the most comfortable I've slept in for years. The bathroom had both a rainfall shower and a handheld spray. The hotel looked beautiful, and I couldn't have asked for a better stay.
