We had lunch outside the hotel across from the market square. The venison was a bit tougher than beef, while I really liked the penne with asparagus, it was delicious. Maybe the town is popular, but prices seemed a little higher than elsewhere in the Harz.

We could hardly beat the restaurant’s view across the market square. We had Christmas dinner there, and even though it was very busy, the staff looked after us attentively. The food was excellent, nicely presented, and made with local ingredients.

I was here for a conference, and the meeting room was very comfortable. The hotel is right in central Wernigerode, with spacious, well-equipped rooms that were clean and nicely furnished. We ate traditional German food in the restaurant and enjoyed it. I can recommend the place.

The building has real historical importance and is clearly well cared for. The staff were excellent, and our room was clean and well equipped. It’s wonderfully quiet, with no vehicle traffic nearby. Sometimes you hear people outside laughing and enjoying themselves, which is actually a pleasant sound. There’s plenty to see and do within easy reach, and the hotel sits right in the middle of town.
